Gables Perfect Smile Treats Gum Recession with Chao Pinhole Gum Rejuvenation™ in Miami
The Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique is a new development in treating those patients who are experiencing gum recession and is quickly becoming the patient’s treatment of choice over conventional gum grafting surgery.
What causes Gum Recession?
Gum recession can occur do to a variety of factors, the most common being periodontal disease and excessive brushing using hard toothbrush or inappropriate brushing technique. This often causes the tooth’s root to become exposed and subject to decay. Dental health relies on the health of the whole mouth, including the gums which support the teeth. When gum health is compromised, the health of the tooth and surrounding area is compromised.
The traditional method to treat gum recession has been to graft soft tissue to the site in order to rebuild that area of gum line. This tissue would then heal and join with the existing gum tissues.
Benefits of Chao Pinhole technique
The Chao Pinhole technique has been developed as a more non-invasive way to deal with gum recession than traditional grafting. Developed by Dr. John Chao, the Chao Pinhole Technique requires no incision and is suture free.
It is performed by gently loosening the gum tissue through a small pinhole in the gums with specialized tools developed by Chao. These tools enable the dentist to adjust, expand and slide the existing gum line to cover the exposed root. The area is able to heal naturally. No incisions or grafts are required.
The Pinhole Technique allows the patient to experience less discomfort. There is no need for invasive surgical tools, sutures or harvesting donor tissue. And the results are natural looking.
